Welcome to St Austell Quaker Meeting. The present meeting house was built in 1829 on High Cross Street and together with its burial ground was registered in 1834. It was refurbished in 1980. It is of a type particular to Cornwall with entrances on two sides with large shutters at each side of the central lobby. It is a grade 2 listed building. We have 20 or so members and attenders.
Visitors are always very welcome in the peace and beauty of this place. Whether you’re a Quaker from elsewhere or this is your first time in a Quaker setting, we’d love to meet you.
There are usually 10 to 15 of us each Sunday morning, when we meet for an hour, mainly in silence. If you’re curious but not sure about coming to Quaker meeting, do get in touch and we can arrange an informal chat.
Children are welcome and if you let us know in advance we may be able to provide activities.
